Our office sits on Arlington Street, directly next door to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. That's not a coincidence of real estate. Dr. Shulman was the first woman to serve as Chief of Surgery at Sarasota Memorial and the only plastic surgeon ever appointed Chief of Staff there, and being next door means coordinating with the breast surgeons and oncologists treating our reconstruction patients is a walk rather than a phone call.
Sovereign Plastic Surgery is a solo practice, which shapes what a visit is like. Dr. Alissa Shulman, a board-certified plastic surgeon since 2002 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.), runs your consultation, performs your surgery, quotes your price, and sees you at every follow-up. There's no coordinator between you and the person operating.
Patients come from across Sarasota and Manatee counties, and from Tampa, Orlando, Naples, and further for fat grafting and breast implant removal in particular.

You'll see Dr. Shulman. Sovereign Plastic Surgery is a solo practice, so she handles your consultation, your surgery, your quote, and every follow-up herself. There's no nurse practitioner running consultations and no coordinator delivering your price.
We bill insurance for breast reconstruction after cancer surgery only. Every other procedure is self-pay, and we accept major credit cards along with CareCredit and Cherry financing.
