Straight Answers About Cost in Sarasota, FL

Know What You'll Pay Before You Book Anything

Sovereign Plastic Surgery bills insurance for one thing: breast reconstruction after cancer surgery. Every other procedure here is self-pay, including breast reduction, which some plans elsewhere will cover when it's documented as medically necessary. We'd rather tell you that plainly now than have you find out later.

If you're not sure which category your procedure falls into, call the office at 941-366-5476 and we'll tell you straight.

Reconstruction After Breast Cancer

Understand Your Federally Protected Coverage

The Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) of 1998 requires most group health plans that cover mastectomy to also cover reconstruction. That includes all stages of rebuilding the affected breast, surgery on the other breast so the two match, breast prostheses, and treatment of complications such as lymphedema, which is fluid buildup in the arm or chest.

Deductibles and coinsurance apply at the same level as other surgery under your plan, and the law sets no deadline, so delayed reconstruction is protected too. You can read the official summary from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on WHCRA protections, and see how the process works on our breast reconstruction page.

Paying for Cosmetic Procedures

See the Payment Methods We Accept

Cosmetic procedures are self-pay. We accept major credit cards, including American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. Financing is available through CareCredit and Cherry, both of which let you apply before your consultation if you'd like to know your options in advance.

How You'll Get Your Quote

Hear the Price From the Surgeon Herself

Dr. Shulman gives you your quote directly at your consultation. There's no coordinator, no assistant, and no follow-up call with a number attached. She examines you, explains what she'd recommend, and tells you what it costs in the same conversation.

Your consultation fee is applied toward the cost of your surgery if you go ahead. Quotes cover the surgical fee along with facility and anesthesia costs, so you're seeing the full picture rather than a starting figure that grows later.

Why We Don't Publish Prices

Get a Real Number Instead of a Range

You won't find price lists on this site, and that's deliberate. Cost depends on what you actually need, how long the operation takes, and whether procedures are combined. A published range would either be so wide it tells you nothing or so narrow it would be wrong for most people. A consultation gets you a real number for your situation.
